Greetings Friends!
I do need to get more consistent about posting on here. The reasons I have not more recently is because I work all day, go home (during rush hour...yay!) cook dinner, have family with my hubby, Sara, Tim, Gideon, and May, then it is time for bed. I decided today if I have time while the little guy is playing or watching his shows I would update you all.
One exciting update! The landlords are permitting us to stay with Tim and Sara for a whole year!! That was a HUGE relief for all of us, rent and utilities are much more affordable being split but it was also really exciting. We all really enjoy living together and the dogs would be sad if they had to part. =) At the house we call each other family, and it has really come to that point. We as couples and individuals have shared allot of personal things with each other. Omer and I have never had a relationship with anybody like the one we have with Tim and Sara. It is continuing to be a blessing. On Monday we each shared one thing we are going to work on implementing in our lives starting this week to improve our marriage relationship, we are trying to hold each other accountable. Since it's only Tuesday I cant really tell you how productive it has been.
As for work and school, it is going well. My job is becoming more enjoyable as the kids and I are growing closer. It is allot of work, sometimes I feel like I am balancing 2 families (which in some ways I am), and becoming a child psychologist. Hadley, Quincy and I have been playing princess for 2 hours everyday since Thursday of last week. When she arrives home from school out come the costumes and Tiaras! I am very thankful I have an active imagination otherwise this would be misery. It has given me a chance to see some of the things that are in her heart and mind, which I am thankful for. She plays out allot of her perceptions and feelings of her life situations out in our games, so it has been very useful for me. Grady, the oldest boy, is still not wanting to have much part of me. Which I can understand. So if you would keep that in your prayers I would appreciate it. Omer's school is going very well! Parts of me wish I didn't have to work so long but I was realizing yesterday it is a good thing I do, because sometimes he still has not finished his homework or is still in class when I arrive home. I would be very bored. Church is becoming a weekly part of our life. If you know us well that may surprise you, if you don't know us that well disregard this comment. Imago Dei has already been a large blessing in our marriage. Teaching us allot and softening Omer's heart continually. Imago is unlike any place I have ever attended. I was trying to put my finger on what is different and and word that comes to me is Humility. The musicians, pastor, elders, everybody we have heard on stage have a quiet humble demeanor. The place is full of people of all ages, styles, and backgrounds. I get excited thinking about going on Sundays. We are also trying to take a marriage course they are offering and I am looking to take a class on the Gospel of John during the week.
Weather here is magnificent! Pretty much my dreams come true....for now at least. When we arrived everything was very brown from the dry season. But the rain has come and everything is turning green and will soon be turning lots of lovely colors!
Well, I have been on here too long already. I do hope you are doing wonderful. Thanks for keeping up with us!
Much love,
Hannah

Life is better with the Bieris
Hello All!
I have been thinking the last couple of days about how I need to update this and I havn't. But thanks to Mollie Schroeder I am here and writing now! =)
Alright, here it goes. I have taken a job as a nanny of three children, Grady 9, Hadley 6, and Quincy 4. Tomorrow is my official starting day so we shall see how that goes. The time I have had with them has been a pleasure, so I'm not too worried about it. Hadley is a big fan of the fact that we have the same color eyes and Quincy said he likes my style. Apparently I'm off to a good start. Omer wasn't as successful as I though. Quincy doesnt like the furry thing on his face, said his daddy is going to make a rule that nannys cant bring their husbands who have those over to the house. Ahh, cute stories already!
Omer has officially finished his second week of classes. Pretty exciting. He attends school Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday all day and studies like crazy in the rest of his free time. It's been good for him so far. He is learning greek, and lots of other scholarly stuff!
Now, to my favorite part! We have not found a house/apartment, but no worries were not still sleeping in a hotel. We are living with some new found friends. Hence the blog name "Life is better with the Bieris". Their names are Tim and Sara Bieri and their our Portland BFFs. They also have a dog name Maybelle who Giddy has become rather attatched to. It's really pretty cute. They run, dig , play, and attempt escape plans out in the back yard. It has been a week and a half since we moved in with them but it feels like way longer. It's been incredible how God has used it in all of our lives. We have family time nearly every night. Sara and I cook dinner then we all sit down and eat. For the first few days we just chatted then we began each sharing our life stories. So even though we have only been friends for a week, it feels like it's been much longer. They're a true blessing in our lives. We feel completely at home here and always enjoy our nightly chats over ice cream and occasionaly a game or movie. A couple of us have made comments on how sad it is going to be when Tim and I's jobs get crazy, or Sara and Omer's homework becomes overwhelming, or we move out. Then there wont be anymore family dinner times or nightly chats over ice cream. On our way out to Portland God showed me 4 different rainbows and each time He spoke to my heart and reminded me that He was going to take care of us. I never imagined it was going to be this way, but I sure am glad because I wouldnt have it any other.
Much love!
