Life is better with the Bieris

Hello All!

I have been thinking the last couple of days about how I need to update this and I havn't. But thanks to Mollie Schroeder I am here and writing now! =)

Alright, here it goes. I  have taken a job as a nanny of three children, Grady 9, Hadley 6, and Quincy 4. Tomorrow is my official starting day so we shall see how that goes. The time I have had with them has been a pleasure, so I'm not too worried about it. Hadley is a big fan of the fact that we have the same color eyes and Quincy said he likes my style. Apparently I'm off to a good start. Omer wasn't as successful as I  though. Quincy doesnt like the furry thing on his face, said his daddy is going to make a rule that nannys cant bring their husbands who have those over to the house. Ahh, cute stories already!

Omer has officially finished his second week of classes. Pretty exciting. He attends school Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday all day and studies like crazy in the rest of his free time. It's been good for him so far. He is learning greek, and lots of other scholarly stuff!

Now, to my favorite part! We have not found a house/apartment, but no worries were not still sleeping in a hotel. We are living with some new found friends. Hence the blog name "Life is better with the Bieris". Their names are Tim and Sara Bieri and their our Portland BFFs. They also have a dog name Maybelle who Giddy has become rather attatched to. It's really pretty cute. They run, dig , play, and attempt escape plans out in the back yard. It has been a week and a half since we moved in with them but it feels like way longer. It's been incredible how God has used it in all of our lives. We have family time nearly every night. Sara and I cook dinner then we all sit down and eat. For the first few days we just chatted then we began each sharing our life stories. So even though we have only been friends for a week, it feels like it's been much longer. They're a true blessing in our lives. We feel completely at home here and always enjoy our nightly chats over ice cream and occasionaly a game or movie. A couple of us have made comments on how sad it is going to be when Tim and I's jobs get crazy, or Sara and Omer's homework becomes overwhelming, or we move out. Then there wont be anymore family dinner times or nightly chats over ice cream. On our way out to Portland God showed me 4 different rainbows and each time He spoke to my heart and reminded me that He was going to take care of us. I never imagined it was going to be this way, but I sure am glad because I wouldnt have it any other.

Much love!
Hannah, Omer, and Gideon

  1. That's awesome, congrats on the job and moving out of the hotel. The hardest part of moving is being away from family and it sounds like you have very much became a part of 2 new families. I used to be a nanny for 2 girls and those were some of the most rewarding years of life. Glad everything is going well, I would really like to get out of Indy and you are making Portland sound very welcoming!

  2. Ah, this is so great! These kind of things are God's way of showing you that you're in the right place. Which is an amazing feeling.
